Top Ten Most Frequently Asked Questions
Q.1. How long will it take to complete the repairs?
We try to complete most repairs the same day. If this is not possible, we will provide you with the anticipated date as to when you can expect your vehicle.
Q.2. How much will it cost?
Our invoices reflect the total cost in parts and labor increments. Labor time is determined by using the ALLDATA or Mitchell’s Labor Guide, which is an industry standard. You can be certain that the parts used were purchased according to your individual needs.
Q.3. My car is running rough. Do I need a tune-up?
In today’s highly sophisticated automobiles, a tune-up is a maintenance type service and normally does not correct running problem. We advise our customers with a running problem to choose an engine diagnostic service in order to address the source of a running problem.
Q.4. What is the difference between Original Equipment Manufacture, Aftermarket, Remanufactured, and Used parts?
All four categories have a purpose in making repairs and should be selected according to availability, vehicle specifics and your personal needs. We make a careful evaluation of the life expectancy of the vehicle, cost and availability before making a part recommendation.
An Original Equipment Manufacture (OEM) is one manufactured by the company that produced the vehicle.
An Aftermarket part is manufactured by a source other than the original factory that meets or exceedes the OEM part specifications.
A Remanufactured part was previously used and is reconditioned to meet or exceed original specifications.
A Used part has been obtained from a salvage yard.
United Auto Care only uses parts that qualify for the 12 month / 12k mile nation wide warranty.
Q.5. Is there a charge to check out my car?
It would depend on the symptoms or purpose. If the inspection is for a used car purchase, we charge according to the extent of inspection. In the case of a particular problem, a fee may be charged based on the type of equipment used and technician’s time.
Q.6. Do I need an appointment for a repair?
An appointment is not necessary at United Auto Care. If you plan to wait on your vehicle, it is best to have an appointment.
Q.7. What credit cards do you take?
We accept VISA, Master Card, American Express, and Discover. We also offer Financing through 1st Franklin Financial. Most requests are approved over the phone within 30 minutes or less!
Q.8. Why does the cost of the repair involve so many labor hours?
In many cases, depending on the design of the vehicle, locating an electrical problem or replacing a part requires disassembly of a section or removal of other parts to access the area for repair.
Q.9. Why does my car need maintenance if it’s running fine?
Regular maintenance of your vehicle protects your investment, helps to prevent breakdowns, and will save you on the cost of repairs in the future. If you want to obtain the ultimate years/mileage out of your vehicle as designed, then regular periodic maintenance is a must! At United Auto Care, we see a large number of repairs that could have been avoided if the recommended Maintenance had been performed as per the vehicle’s manufactures service table.
Q.10. What will happen if I don’t have the repairs done right now?
Our top priority is to keep you and your passenger’s safe while riding in your vehicle. If the repair can wait, the advisors and the technicians will work together to help you prioritize the urgency of the repairs and maintenance needed.
